MY HOME

It took me years to build my credit to the point where I could finally buy a home of my own. With the help of a guaranteed VA loan, I achieved that goal. In 2022, I sold that home and moved to the Philadelphia area for a better job with higher pay. I used the proceeds from that sale to purchase a new home in New Jersey, close to my work.

I did all of this entirely on my own—no co‑signer, no financial help from family or friends. I’m genuinely proud of what I’ve accomplished. Recently, though, I’ve learned that some people believe I must have had help from others. Their doubt doesn’t take away from my pride, but it does sadden me that my success has strained or even damaged certain relationships.

I wish those holding onto resentment or misplaced anger would let it go and repair the relationships they’ve harmed—especially with people who had nothing to do with my achievements. Once again, I did this on my own. It may be worth reconsidering your assumptions before it’s too late, because holding onto false beliefs can lead to regrets that last a lifetime.
